2000 Jaguar XKR-R Concept Car 400bhp XKR (X100) X100 SVO

This car was produced by Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations Department (SVO) at Browns Lane in Coventry. It was intended to demonstrate what could become a limited-edition “Track-Day” car.

Engine power was boosted to 400bhp, a 30bhp increase over the standard XKR and a Tremec T56 six-speed manual gearbox, as found in the Dodge Viper and Chevrolet Corvette, was fitted.

Front and rear brakes are Brembo cross-drilled discs with four-pot calipers and ABS. The car has been lowered by 30mm over the standard XKR and is fitted with Jaguar’s own 20-inch BBS-sourced R-Performance wheels. A unique body kit has been installed with different front and rear bumpers, sculptured sills and a rear spoiler.

Inside there is an SVO produced rollbar, Recaro racing seats, four-point seatbelts and in place of the rear seats there are bins for the driver and passenger’s crash helmets.

The XKR-R was capable of 180 mph and covered 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds.

Sadly this car never went into production, but highly tuned versions of the later X150 models, the XKR-S and the XKR-S GT were produced.
