James Bond XK8

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust will be celebrating Sir William Lyons’ 120th birthday and the 25th anniversary of the launch of the XK8 at a very special event at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, Warwickshire, on Saturday 4th September 2021.

The day will follow the format of the successful Jaguars at Gaydon event and XJS Club National Day that we held on 5th September 2020.

We are planning to include a ‘closed arena’ so that special cars can be driven in for display and we have already booked that well-known walking Jaguar encyclopaedia, Bob Beecham as commentator for the day.  We will be featuring XK8s in the Arena in the morning and other Jaguars in the afternoon.  In between Jaguar related activities in the Arena, you will be entertained by ‘My Favourite Things’.

To round off the day, the JDHT will be presenting two of our rare ‘Trust Trophies’ to XK8 owners in the Arena and cutting a very special cake that we have ordered to celebrate Sir William’s 120th birthday.

The Last XK8 (X100)

This is a friendly and informal gathering and not restricted to members of any specific Jaguar club, so any Jaguar or Daimler owner from Daimler and Lanchester Owners Club, Jaguar Breakfast Club, Jaguar Drivers’ Club, Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club, XJS Club, XK8 Enthusiasts Club or non club members are welcome to join us for a great day out.

We will have club stands from:

Anyone wishing to display their cars should arrive between 09:30 am and 10:30 am to ensure we can park them up in prime positions around the museum and our display area.

The XJS Club were so impressed with how well the September 2020 event worked that they have already decided to come back in 2021 and will have their own special XJS Club area on the elevated section of site that we call the ‘haul road’.

Tickets can be booked from the British Motor Museum website.
