Stratford Festival of MotoringSunday 5th May to Monday 6th May
THIS EVENT HAS NOW ENDED
We are taking a pair of early cars from the 1930s when the cars were badged as SS. The Trust have exhibited cars at the Stratford Festival of Motoring since it first started and they have always attracted huge amounts of attention. We have either parked them up alongside the cars from the British Motor Museum or together with other Jaguars, but for 2019 our presence will be a bit different.
We plan to bring along our 1933 SS 1 Tourer – one of only 13 known survivors – which was restored a few years ago – that is assuming we can fix the oil leak from the gearbox. We will park this next to our 1938 SS 100 Jaguar which we use on a regular basis.
Both of these will be parked up in Wood Street close to the Finish Arch for the event runs.
As raising the hoods on 1930s cars is a non-trivial task, one of them is likely to be under cover, so keep a lookout for the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust gazebo. Subject to the contents of our volunteers’ wardrobes we have asked them to try and dress in period.
